To Settle or Not to Settle

How often do you "batch" or "settle" your terminal?

Is it once a day, once a week or once a month? Batching even one day late can significantly increase the interchange rate you pay to the card issuing bank. Transactions that do not meet the two-day time period are "downgraded" to a higher rate, which means you actually pay more for them. In addition, late batching results in delayed payment on those transactions. ABTEK does not charge any fees to batch, so consider batching your transactions on a timely basis. If all other qualifying criteria are met, you qualify for the best interchange rates by settling your transaction daily. Most terminals/point-of-sale systems give an auto-batch option.
